Utilities claim smart meters are safe, and compare them to cell phones. However, cell phones, cell towers, wi-fi and other wireless devices can also affect your health. Reducing your EMF exposure can benefit your overall health and wellness. The National Toxicology Program found DNA damage and clear evidence of cancer from exposure to cell phone frequencies. Inscientists who had published in peer-reviewed journals from 41 nations signed the International Scientists Appeal.

The BioInitiative report, updated in contains nearly papers reviewed by 29 international scientists from over 20 countries on the health and environmental effects of electromagnetic fields. Their conclusions note that the continued rollout of wireless technologies jeopardizes global health and recommends stricter biologically based standards, lower exposure limits, and a more cautious, science-based approach.

The World Health Organization WHO classifies wireless radiation as a 2B carcinogen, based on studies linking cell phone radiation to brain tumors! I had lived in this apartment for 5 years with no problems. Suddenly I started having terrible problems sleeping. I tried everything I could think of and finally went to my doctor who gave me sleeping pills. For over a year I needed a pill every night, sometimes a half worked, but only for a few hours and soon I would be using the second half.

On Thursday, 4 days ago, newer and stronger meters we put in to replace the ones installed a little over a year ago. Now I cannot sleep, even with the sleeping pill and I am feeling so fatigued and muddle-brained that I can barely think straight and even have trouble standing up straight. I have literally done nothing since they have been put in and feel achy all over and disoriented, slightly dizzy. Since I am in a rental, I am going to have to try to move, probably to another state, because I do not feel that California is going to do anything good on this matter to protect my health.

But I want you to know that in my opinion, making all of our technology communicable with wireless technology is going to bite us in the rear BIG TIME one day and we will be totally unprepared!

The reason? I am a systems engineer so I know very well how technology works. Anybody who knows anything about technology and physics knows this truth. ANY electrical signal retriever can catch these wireless messages floating through the air. Think about it. And while you are at it take a look at the amount of equipment and hardware the US military forces are rushing to implement on every truck, tank, plane, bomb, etc.

I have been feeling sick since they installed 16 smart meters on a panel 6 feet away from my building. I have developed respiratory problems and insomnia and anxiety and pressure in my head. The electric meter makes a noise most of the time, not particularly loud but annoying if i am trying to read.

The lights in the meter seem to dance in time to the noise. In fact it may be that it makes a noise all the time but I just don't notice it when, say, the TV is on or some other sounds in the room.

Hi johnipcan I check if you are referring to the smart meter itself or the small hand held device which allows you to view your consumption data its looks similar to this? Just to correct one thing from my initial post, it is not noisy all the time. However, when you move supplier your new supplier then becomes responsible for your meter, we no longer have any jurisdiction for the operation of the meter and have no authority to have it investigated.

If you contact your new Supplier they will be able to investigate this further for you. I'm experiencing noise coming from the meter itself: a bit like the noise of a clock. I can also see a flashing red light. My smart meter was installed about a month ago, and no switch of supplier was involved at al.

Could you confirm if you have recently moved to another supplier? The meter says "property of Scottish Power" so it was kind of difficult to know who to contact. Hello, I'm experiencing noise coming from the meter itself: a bit like the noise of a clock. Thanks, Giacomo. The lights just tell you it is working, noise is unusual but maybe the relay turning the lights on and off. Nothing to worry about, build a small cupboard for the meters. It was replaced a year or two ago and has only just started doing this. It sounds like a relay which is clicking on and off. Occasionally you will hear a noise which sounds like something shorting or struggling to make an electrical connection.

Not sure if it was doing this during the night as I was in the land of nod. My thoughts are to call E.

ON and get them to have a butchers. Anyone experienced this or know what might be the cause? Thanks for any help.

It sounds like the control of the meter between Peak and Off peak is failing. You need the metering department of you supplier to send an engineer to sort it out. Is there a separate time clock? If it is a separate time clock then either the timer is faulty or the connection from timer to meter is loose.

If it is a radio controlled switch such as teleswitch which uses signals sent on the BBC long wave transmitter then something large and metallic in the cupboard may be shielding the signal very unlikely but not impossible. Thanks x 1. My two rate meter changes between day and night displays every few seconds.

I read articles on both sides of the topic and I even called my electric company several times. Proponents of these meters say that they will be used to show consumers how much energy they use at certain times of day and that they will help them budget their energy use and therefore money better. Now we all know that EMFs have been in the news a lot and that there is a lot of evidence mounting about the health risks of such radiation from microwaves, cell phones, WIFI, and the like.

Scientists have shown that the electromagnetic frequencies emitted by smart meters and digital meters:.
